Welcome Back!

We held our first meeting this past Monday and covered a lot of things, so I thought I would summarize some of the information for our new members as well as our returning ones   🙂

The following programs will be running again this year:

  1. Fat Quarter Club – Bring a Fat Quarter in for a chance to win the lot! For every FQ you bring in, you get to enter your name in the draw.  Each month has a theme.  The themes for the following two months are:

October: Fall colours and/or Halloween

November: Christmas and/or red or green

2. Strip Exchange – Bring a ziploc baggie with your name on it and 3 strips in it,  cut 2 1/2″ X WOF.  One black, one white and one primary (either blue, red or yellow).  Submit it at the meeting and the girls will send you home with 3 new strips!  It’s a great way to build your stash for a beautiful black, white and primary project you may have in mind.

3. Quiltie Program – Want a fun way to use up your scraps or try a new technique on a smaller scale?  Making a quiltie is the perfect way to do just that!  A quiltie is a 24″x24″ quilt that we donate for all the new babies being born at the Almonte General Hospital.  A lovely touch for our small town hospital.

4. Charity Program – We have another year commitment with the local Children’s Aid Society.  Stay tuned for more information on what we will be making for them this year.

Our guild has its very own email address: almontequiltersguild@gmail.com  If you have any questions, suggestions or concerns we would love to hear them, please drop us a line anytime.

Finally, our next meeting is one of our joint meetings with the Richmond Quilt Guild.  We will have the pleasure of seeing Cathy Miller on her retirement tour!  Please note the location and date change.

Have a great week!

Angela
